Baseball

Raider baseball has had a long and victorious history at SCC, earning multiple trips to the Florida Community College Activities Association State Tournament, as well as a JUCO World Series appearance in 2003. SCC baseball players are also recognized each year for their contribution to the team earning all-conference, all-state and all-American honors.

The leadership of veteran head coach Mike Nicholson is committed to keeping SCC at the top of Florida baseball, as well as helping players move to the next level; countless former Raiders players have earned scholarships to four-year colleges, many of them Division I schools.

SCC is a member of the NJCAA Division I and the Florida Community College Activities Association's Mid-Florida Conference. The Raiders play their home games at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Raiders Field. Scholarships for student-athletes, including tuition and books, and, in some cases, housing, are available.

SCC lands JU assistant for new head baseball coach 

(July 17, 2008) SCC's Director of Athletics John Scarpino announced Thursday that Chris Hayes, a former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Jacksonville University, will begin as head coach on Monday, July 21. Nicholson named assistant athletics director

(June 5, 2008) SCC Head Baseball Coach Mike Nicholson has been named the College's Assistant Director of Athletics. Nicholson, who led SCC to a Mid-Florida Conference title this year, will step down on July 1 as head baseball coach.
