Fastpitch SoftballRaider fastpitch softball was established at SCC in 1995 under the leadership of current Head Coach Courtney Miller. During that time, Miller has built a nationally recognized program that has compiled a 482-300-1 record and qualified for the state tournament for six straight years. SCC fastpitch softball players are also recognized each year for their contribution to the team earning All-Conference, All-State, All-Academic and All-American honors. Veteran Head Coach Miller is committed to keeping SCC at the top of Florida softball, as well as helping players move to the next level; countless former Raiders players have earned scholarships to four-year colleges, many of them Division I schools. SCC is a member of the NJCAA Division I and the Florida Community College Activities Association's (FCCAA) Mid-Florida Conference. The Raiders play their home games at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Raiders Field. Scholarships for student-athletes including tuition and books, and in some cases, housing is available. Recent Fastpitch Softball NewsRaiders softball sweeps Lake Sumter CC SCC's softball team swept Lake Sumter CC Tuesday by scores of 12-2 and 10-1. Both games were called after five innings because of the eight-run rule. The Raiders offense pounded out 27 hits in the two games. Raiders softball goes 3-1 last week in Conference play Last week the Raiders fastpitch softball team went 3-1 in Mid-Florida Conference play, defeating Lake City CC 14-1 and 6-0 Tuesday, April 1 and splitting with Daytona Beach CC, winning 3-0 and losing 2-1 Thursday, April 3. The team is 24-24 overall and play Tuesday, April 8 at Lake Sumter CC in a non-conference match-up before hosting Central Florida CC in a crucial conference date Thursday, April 10. |
