SCC Foundation salutes Blue & Gold Circle volunteers
Thanks to overwhelming support from SCC's faculty and staff, the SCC Foundation's Blue & Gold Circle campaign was even bigger this year.
According to final campaign results, $71,620 was raised to help SCC, a 5.73 percent increase over last year. Overall, 33.28 percent of faculty and staff contributed to the annual giving campaign, which ended Oct. 31.
Matthew Hodge, executive director of the SCC Foundation, said this year's co-chairs and volunteers worked tirelessly to promote the campaign.
"We are grateful for the many hours our volunteers contributed to make this year's Blue & Gold Circle campaign a success," Hodge said. "They reached out to help us exceed our goals."
Campaign co-chairs Dan Gilmartin and Ron Krodel sent out e-mails and were busy meeting with colleagues around SCC, Hodge said. Krodel even painted his face blue and his hair gold to spread the word.
Campaign volunteers also made important contributions. Volunteers were: George Bernard, Laura Carlin, Matthew Christo, Crystal Clark, Doreen Collins, Pat DeSlavo, Lucia Dzikowski, Christy King, Terri Meta, Randy Pawlowski, Beverly Smith, Suzanne Tesinsky and Paul Tremel.
Through the Blue & Gold Circle, faculty and staff donate to the College's greatest need or to a particular program or scholarship of choice. Donations are made in one payment or in intervals through payroll deductions.
