Admissions Process

Whatever your goals, we're here to help. SCC's counselors and admissions staff are happy to answer your questions, provide you with information, and get you started towards the best two years of your life.

Steps to Enroll: First-Time-in-College Students

1. Submit an Application for Admission

You may obtain an application for admission one of three ways:

  • Print the online SCC application for admission;
  • Obtain an application from any SCC Campus at Sanford/Lake Mary, Oviedo, Altamonte Springs or Heathrow; or
  • Call 407.708.2050.
2. Verify Your Residency Status.
If you have not already verified your residency status, download and print a Residency Affidavit. If sufficient documentation is not provided, you will be unable to register for classes. The deadline for documentation is always the day before each term begins. This deadline is strictly observed.
3. Complete an Entrance Exam.
If you have taken the SAT or ACT, an official copy must be on file in SCC's Records Office before your advising appointment. If you have not taken either test, the Computerized Placement Test (CPT) is provided on a walk-in basis at any of SCC's Testing and Assessment Offices. Testing hours are listed online.
4. Complete a Financial Aid Form.
If you have not applied for financial aid, do so online immediately at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It usually takes four to six weeks to determine your eligibility.
5. Provide Your Transcripts.
Official transcripts from your high school and any colleges you have attended must be sent to:

Seminole Community College
Records Office
100 Weldon Boulevard
Sanford, FL 32773
6. Create Your MySCC Student Account.
Visit MySCC online. Follow the instructions to create a new student account. If you have questions, visit the MySCC Help home page or call the MySCC help line at 407.708.2050.

Please wait 48 hours after creating your MySCC account before viewing the Online Orientation.

7. View SCC's Online Orientation.
Online orientation is mandatory for all new students. During orientation you will learn about College policies and procedures and campus activities. For more information, call 407.708.2050

You may only view the online orientation after creating your MySCC account.

8. Meet with an Academic Adviser.

Following your online orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet with an academic adviser. The adviser will use your test scores and transcripts to help plan your course schedules.

If you are a transfer student, you should bring your unofficial transcripts to your advising appointment from any colleges you previously attended. Transcripts that have not been evaluated by SCC's Records Office will affect your class selection.

9.Register for Classes.
Following advisement, register for classes using MySCC.
10. Pay Your Fees.

After you register for your classes, check your "Due Charges by Summary" on MySCC to learn your payment due date and how much you owe the College. You can pay at any SCC cashier window or online using MySCC. SCC accepts cash, debit/credit (American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa) and personal checks.

Defer Your Fees.

If you are receiving financial aid, you must accept/decline your financial aid and sign a deferment. Log into MySCC and click "Accept/Decline Award." If you need assistance, click here for detailed instructions.

Congratulations! You are now a Raider!
