Summer 2008 Courses!

Located in the heart of the I-4 high-tech corridor, SCC’s $1.5 million Center for Economic Development at Heathrow was built to meet the demands of the Central Florida workforce, spanning 65,000 square feet on more than six acres.

The Center partners Central Florida’s economic development leaders with the College to train the region’s workforce in business/technology-related programs, attract and retain leading technology companies to Central Florida, and sustain the driving force behind the region’s economic engine. It offers relevant programming for the area’s emergent workforce, as well as professional and continuing education classes. The Center also functions as a collaborative space, where students, community residents and professionals can converge, learn and create.

With its innovative design, the Center offers constituents flexible classroom and conference spaces with wireless Internet access throughout, an information commons and areas devoted to economic development and multiple learning. Here, students can:

• Earn credits for a variety of university pre-majors;
• Earn an A.S. degree in digital media or construction/architecture;
• Develop new skills in continuing professional education classes;
• Receive hands-on training in customized workplace training sessions;
• Study for a variety of specialized career certificates; and
• Participate in SCC’s renowned community, recreation and leisure programs.
