Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Science StudentPhi Theta Kappa is an international scholastic honors society for two-year colleges. It was founded in 1918 as a sister organization to Phi Beta Kappa, the scholastic honor society serving four-year institutions. SCC is host to the Pi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Pi Lambda stands for scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service, and membership is earned through specified qualifications, honor and service to others.

The Pi Lambda Chapter is committed to leadership, academic integrity, volunteerism and general participation in the programs of the College and community. Inductees are people of academic accomplishment, as well as high moral and ethical character. Induction in Pi Lambda requires you to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of 12 academic credits, be registered for at least six credits and maintain a GPA of 3.5 once inducted.
