How do students access MySCC?
  1. Visit the mySCC Web site at my.scc-fl.edu.
  2. If you clicked on MySCC, enter your valid Login Name and Password (all students will be required to create an account during their initial session in MySCC).
  3. Click the Login button.
Why do I have to create an account?

Seminole Community College is working hard to achieve two goals:

  • To establish a single log-on environment where only one Login Name and Password are necessary to utilize Web services, thereby centralizing the authentication process.
  • To assure a secure workplace by utilizing the latest encryption technology.

All students will be required to create their own Login Name and Password during their initial session in MySCC.

What if I don't have a Social Security Number?

Students who do not have a Social Security Number should contact the SCC International Student Office or call 407.708.2050 to obtain the appropriate information to create their account.

What is a Login Name?

Your Login Name is your universal access ID to all SCC computer resources. In addition to accessing MySCC, your Login Name will be used to create your MyMail student e-mail account and provide you access to the College's network system. Therefore, you are encouraged to use good judgment when creating your Login Name.

Your Login Name must consist of at least five characters and no more than eight. Keep in mind your Login Name is case sensitive, so capitalization does matter. The system will only accept letters and numbers; spaces and punctuation are not valid. Examples of appropriate Login Names: johndoe1 OR
123JANE.

Make sure you remember your Login Name!

What is a Password?

Your Password is the second half of the Login validation process. It must include at least five characters and is also case sensitive.

Why am I required to select a Question and provide a Response when creating my MySCC account?

If you forget your Password, you can reset it electronically by clicking on the Forgot my Login Name and Password link on the MySCC Login page.

The Question and Response you provide while creating your account will be used to authenticate you when resetting your Password.

How do I change my Password?
  1. Login to MySCC.
  2. Click on the Change My Password link on the left menu.
  3. Click on Change Password.
  4. Enter your current password and then choose a new password.
What is an SCC ID number?

This seven-digit number uniquely identifies you in the College's student records system. Upon your admission to the College, you will be assigned an SCC ID number, which, for your personal security, will be used for identification purposes throughout your career at SCC instead of your Social Security Number.

Once you have logged in to MySCC, you can locate your SCC ID number in the yellow "welcome" bar at the top of your MySCC page.

Who can use MySCC to register for classes?

Any current college credit, SCCorporate College or community education student may use MySCC for registration and to access their student records. Vocational, adult high school, adult education, ESOL and Language Institute students and alumni may use MySCC to access their student records.

Students who have not yet been admitted to the College and community members may access MySCC's Guest Resources to search the College catalog and course schedule. In order to utilize MySCC for registration purposes, new students must complete all SCC admission requirements and attend an orientation.

How do I look up open classes?

  2. Select View Class Schedule on the Guest Resources menu.
  3. Click on Search for Classes and GO.
  4. Select at least two criteria then click Search to see the results.

You may now view all available classes for a course. You will need both the catalog and class number to register for any class.

How do I find my grades?

SCC does not mail grades. You may view your grades via MySCC.

  1. Go to the MySCC Web site: my.scc-fl.edu.
  2. Login with valid Login Name and Password.
  3. Click Grades udner Academic History on your Student Center menu.

What is MyMail?

MyMail is SCC's free student e-mail system. A MyMail account will be created for all students with a valid Login Name. Once you have created your MySCC account and registered for classes, your MyMail account will be available within 24 to 28 business hours.

Example: MySCC Login name = johndoe1
MyMail Login Name = johndoe1
MyMail address = johndoe1@mymail.scc-fl.edu

Go to MyMail

Can I access MySCC off-campus?

You can access MySCC 24-hours a day, seven days a week from any computer with Internet access.

  1. Go to the MySCC Web site: my.scc-fl.edu.
  2. Login with valid Login Name and Password.
Why do I keep getting bumped off MySCC?

The most probable reason is that there is a 20-minute time-out in place. If there is no activity in 20 minutes, you will be returned to the MySCC login page. This is to protect your data from unauthorized access.

How do I know when my fees are due?

After you have registered for your courses, check your Due Charges (under the Student Center menu). Don't forget to note the payment due date. If you do not pay your fees or defer your payment (if you receive financial aid) by the payment due date, you will be dropped from your classes.

Note that in order to receive a refund, the student must officially drop from a course prior to the end of the add/drop registration period as published in the SCC Catalog.

Why does SCC need my Social Security Number?

Seminole Community College recognizes that an individual's social security number is a unique form of identification that can be utilized to obtain sensitive information regarding that particular individual. However, SCC must collect social security numbers under certain circumstances in order for the College to be able to properly perform its duties and functions as an educational institution and in order to ensure that such duties and functions are performed accurately and efficiently. Due to the sensitive nature of an individual's social security number, the College provides the following statement regarding the College's collection of social security numbers:

SCC collects your Social Security Number only for the following purposes:
  • Identification and verification
  • Background checks
  • Billing and payments
  • Payroll administration
  • Garnishments
  • Data collection, reconciliation and tracking
  • Benefits administration
  • Tax reporting
  • State and federal educational and employment reporting
  • Administration of federally funded financial aid programs
  • Administration of student services programs
  • Vendor applications
  • Independent contractors

This Social Security Number Collection Statement has been prepared by Seminole Community College in compliance with Section 119.071(5), Florida Statutes (2007). (January 2008)
