For Parents
SCC: Smart. Cost-effective. Convenient.
It’s only a matter of time before your child graduates from high school and starts college. Are you prepared?
Before graduating, your son or daughter will start thinking about going to college. But while choosing to pursue a college education is smart, it is also a decision that affects the entire family, especially when determining which school to attend. Seminole Community College wants you to be well informed and involved throughout this exciting process.
For more than 40 years, SCC has offered a wide variety of affordable educational opportunities for graduating high school seniors throughout the Central Florida community. Whether your student is exploring a first career or looking to improve job skills and marketability, SCC can help make these endeavors become a reality.
SCC can offer your child an exceptional college experience that includes:
- Award-Winning Faculty: SCC’s faculty is made up of quality, accessible instructors who are thoroughly knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and understand the challenges of today’s competitive job market. Teaching relevant, industry-specific curricula, with an emphasis on practical, hands-on experience, many of our instructors teach at some of Florida’s state universities throughout the year as well. And because of the College’s small class sizes, our instructors are often able to personally interact with and teach students on a one-on-one basis.
- Premium Locations: Catering to residents of Central Florida and especially Seminole County, many students who attend SCC can still live at home while attending classes, which eliminates the need for off-site dormitory expenses or costly meal plans.
- Reasonable Tuition: Attending classes at SCC costs less than attending Florida’s four-year universities. Compare the average cost of one year at SCC with the cost of a year at the University of Florida, Florida State University or the University of Central Florida*:
