    Downloading Acrobat Reader


    Please read through the instructions before beginning. Many users have found it beneficial to print the instructions to use as a reference during installation of the program. The pop up boxes that you see on your screen may vary from those shown depending on your browser and version.

    To download Acrobat Reader:

    • If you do not wish to install Adobe Yahoo! Toolbar or Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition please uncheck the selection boxes before downloading the file.

    • Small download logo Click to download Acrobat Reader

    • Click on the link: "free Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader" at the top of the page.

    • Fill out the 1-2-3 form. Complete #1.

    • Click on Download Logo button.

    • The File Download dialog box will appear. Select Save this file to disk. (If this box doesn't appear then go on to the next step)

    • Click on the Save button.

    • Next a new page appears. A SaveAs dialog box will pop up as seen below:

    • You need to save the file to your hard drive. It doesn't matter where you save the file. Just make sure that you remember where you save the file. You will need it in the coming steps.

      Click down triangle of Save to navigate on your hard drive. Once you have selected the directory you wish to save it in, click on the  Save button to save the file.

      Important note: Remember where you save the file. You will need to run this file later.

    • The Acrobat file is a very large file (about 20 MB in size), so have patience.  When the file is loaded the "Save" dialog box will disappear.


    Installing Acrobat Reader - Windows XP

    After downloading the file from the web (remember where you saved it) follow these steps:

    • Print these instructions.

    • Run the program by double clicking on download icon or file name

    • The following dialog box will pop up.

      Setup
    • If you know the exact location of the file type it in and proceed to next step.

    • Run the program by clicking on taskbar

      Start.
    • Select Run
    • Clicking on the Browse button. The Browse dialog box will appear.
    • Navigate and find the file you saved. The file is named: AdbeRdr705_enu_full.exe.
    • Single click on the file named AdbeRdr705_enu_full.exe. The file will then be highlighted.
    • The following box will appear. Just wait. Do nothing.

      Run
    • Click on the  OK button of the Run dialog box.

    • The following box will appear. Just wait. Do nothing.

      Adobe Download Manager

    • This dialog box will then appear. Once again, do nothing.

    • This dialog box will then appear. Once again, do nothing
      InstallShield Wizard
    • This full screen box will appear. Click on the Next> button.

      Setup

    • This full screen box will appear. Click on the Next> button.

    • This full screen box will appear. Click on the Next> button.

    • If you would like to place you this application if a different directory please click on Change Destination Folder... button.

    • Choose destination folder and click OK.

    • This full screen box will appear. Click on the Install> button.

    • The next full sized screen will appear. Wait until it reaches 100%.

    • The next full sized screen will appear. Click on the Finish button.

    • You will not need to restart Windows in order to complete the install. Acrobat Reader is now install. When you open the application for the first time you will be asked to accept License Agreement.
