Return to top Financial Assistance Seminole Community College realizes that some students would not be able to attend college without some form of financial assistance. While most of the financial assistance programs offered by the College emphasize serving students with financial need, there are a limited number of scholarships available to students based on academic achievement or merit. For more information on the College's financial assistance programs, visit the Financial Aid Web site. Return to top Refund Policy To receive a refund, a student must officially drop the course(s). The drop date will be determined by the date the official drop is received in the Registration Office. To be eligible for a refund, drop forms must be received prior to the published deadline. Student refunds will be disbursed using the same form of payment as the original transaction (i.e. if a student pays for a class with a credit card and then receives financial aid or drops the class, the refund will be processed back to that same credit card.). | Refunds will be made as follows: | Refund | | Course(s) cancelled by the College | 100% | | College error | 100% | | College initiated course(s) or section change(s) | 100% | | College Credit Courses dropped during business hours within the scheduled add/drop period and prior to the published refund deadline | 100% | | Thereafter* | No refund | Non-Credit Courses (vocational-credit and continuing education) dropped prior to the first scheduled class | 100% | | Non-Credit Classes (meeting one to three days) dropped prior to the first scheduled class | 100% | | Thereafter* | No refund | | Non-Credit Courses (meeting for four days or more) dropped within six calendar days after the scheduled first class date or within six calendar days after the student's registration date, whichever comes first | 100% | | Thereafter* | No refund | Note: The matriculation, tuition, scholarship fee, and lab fees are refundable. The college application fee and late registration fee are non-refundable except in cases caused by cancellation of courses and/or college error, or the student is denied admission. * Seminole Community College may refund 100 percent of the matriculation and tuition fees after the published refund deadline if a student withdraws from a course(s) due to an emergency or extraordinary circumstances. Emergency or extraordinary circumstances must be determined by the College to be exceptional and beyond the student's control, and may include, but are not limited to, serious illness, death, involuntary call to active military duty or other emergency circumstances or extraordinary situations. No refund will be approved unless the student provides the necessary documentation that supports the reason for a refund. If documentation cannot be provided, the request for refund cannot be considered.
