Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Phi Theta Kappa is an international scholastic honors society for two-year colleges. It was founded in 1918 as a sister organization to Phi Beta Kappa, the scholastic honor society serving four-year institutions. SCC is host to the Pi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Pi Lambda stands for scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service, and membership is earned through specified qualifications, honor, and service to others.

The Pi Lambda chapter is committed to leadership, academic integrity, volunteerism, and general participation in the programs of the college and community. Inductees are people of academic accomplishment, and high moral and ethical character. Induction in Pi Lambda requires you to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of twelve (12) academic credits, and you must be registered for at least six (6) credits. You must maintain a GPA of 3.5 once inducted.
